Liverpool have successfully completed the signing of Federico Chiesa from Juventus for a total fee of £12.5 million.

The deal includes an upfront payment of £10 million, with an additional £2.5 million in performance-based add-ons contingent on Liverpool winning the Premier League and Champions League. This acquisition marks Arne Slot's first signing at the club.
Chiesa, 26, has signed a four-year contract with Liverpool and is expected to earn between €6 million and €7 million per season, a notable increase from his previous salary of €5 million at Juventus.
The Italian international, who has struggled with injuries and inconsistent form in recent years, was sold by Juventus primarily due to his expiring contract and the fact that he was not part of new manager Thiago Motta's plans.
Despite interest from Barcelona and Saudi Arabian clubs, Liverpool managed to secure Chiesa's signature, thanks in part to the efforts of their sporting director, Richard Hughes.
Chiesa expressed his excitement about joining Liverpool, stating, "I'm so happy to be a Liverpool player. When Richard Hughes called me and he said, 'Do you want to join Liverpool?' - and the coach called me - I said yes immediately because I know the history of this club, I know what it represents to the fans."
Chiesa's versatility and work rate are seen as valuable assets for Liverpool, allowing for greater rotation and depth across the front line. His ability to play on both wings and even as a second striker aligns well with Slot's tactical approach.
Mina Rzouki, an Italian football expert, noted, "He's an incredibly direct player, he can play on the left or right - he can even play as a second striker although he's not a huge fan of doing that."
Chiesa's debut for Liverpool could come as soon as this Sunday against Manchester United. His arrival adds to an already formidable attacking lineup that includes Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, Cody Gakpo, and Luis Díaz.
