Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has delivered a stark critique of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), asserting that the party has failed to fulfill its promises to the Nigerian people.

Speaking at the inauguration of the newly constructed Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Southwest zonal secretariat in Ibadan, Makinde emphasized that the upcoming 2027 general elections will be a decisive moment for the APC.

"The APC has been at the helm of affairs in this country, and they have woefully failed us," Makinde declared.

He urged Nigerians to consider whether to "retain them in power or vote them out," framing the election as a critical assessment of the APC's governance.

Makinde also addressed internal challenges within his own party, the PDP, calling for unity and resolution of disputes to strengthen their position against the ruling party.

"The enemies of the party are within, not the opposition parties," he noted, emphasizing the need for cohesion to maintain peace and stability in the region.

Additionally, Makinde hinted at his potential presidential aspirations, stating, "I am old enough to make my own decisions about contesting or not.

The current realities in the country will guide my choices."
