Manchester United has informed 24-year-old winger Antony that he can leave the club during the January transfer window following the dismissal of Erik ten Hag.
Antony, who was signed from Ajax in the summer of 2022 for a substantial fee of £86 million, has struggled to meet expectations at Old Trafford. Over his tenure, he has managed to score only five goals in 56 Premier League appearances, which has led to frustration within the club.

Reports indicate that Antony's performance has been a "bone of contention" in the dressing room, and his lack of impact on the field has made him one of the most criticized signings of the Ten Hag era.
The decision to part ways with Antony comes after Manchester United's poor start to the 2024-25 season, which ultimately led to Ten Hag's sacking. The Dutch manager was relieved of his duties following a 2-1 loss to West Ham United, marking a low point in a season where the team found itself languishing in 14th place in the league standings. Under Ten Hag, United had conceded more goals than they scored, a situation not seen since the early 1990s.
With Ten Hag's departure, Manchester United is looking to offload Antony, potentially at a loss, with clubs like Flamengo and Ajax showing interest. The Red Devils are open to letting him leave initially on loan, hoping he can attract permanent suitors by performing well elsewhere. As the club transitions under interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy and prepares for the arrival of new coach Ruben Amorim, Antony's future at Old Trafford appears uncertain.
