Manchester City Football Club Win Legal Premier League Legal Battle

Manchester City Football Club has successfully challenged the Premier League over its Associated Party Transaction (APT) rules.

The Arbitral Tribunal found that both the original and revised APT rules violated UK competition law and procedural fairness standards.

This ruling criticized the Premier League's enforcement of these rules, particularly highlighting issues with Manchester City's sponsorship deals.

The tribunal noted discrimination within the APT rules, specifically pointing out their intentional exclusion of shareholder loans. It also annulled certain decisions made by the Premier League, citing "procedural unfairness and undue delays" in assessing fair market value.

Manchester City expressed appreciation for the favorable outcome and endorsed the tribunal's conclusions.
