Musiliu Akinsanya, widely known as MC Oluomo, has been elected as the National President the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).

The election, held on November 9, 2024, at the Union’s Zonal Secretariat along the Osogbo/Ikirun road in Osun State, saw delegates from Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, and Ekiti states participating.

Notably, MC Oluomo was the sole candidate in this election. MC Oluomo, who previously served as the chairman of the NURTW's Lagos State Chapter, emphasized the importance of unity and peace within the union during his inaugural speech. He stated, “I have forgiven everyone that offended me and I wish those I offended would forgive me as well.”

The newly elected president urged members to protect their livelihoods by maintaining peace and unity, asserting, “This is our union and we must be committed to its preservation. We will not allow anyone to destroy our means of livelihood.”
