The head coach of Fenerbahçe and former Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho has been fined approximately £20,000 by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) following a controversial post-match tirade.

The incident occurred after Fenerbahçe's dramatic 3-2 victory over Trabzonspor, where Sofyan Amrabat scored a last-minute winner. Despite the win, Mourinho was critical of the officiating, particularly targeting VAR official Atilla Karaoglan.

He described the officiating as "smelling bad" and accused the VAR of being the "man of the match," suggesting bias and incompetence.

Mourinho's comments were deemed unsportsmanlike by the TFF, who stated that his remarks were contrary to sportsmanship and fair play, damaging the reputation of Turkish football.

As a result, he received a fine of 900,000 TL (approximately £20,178) and a one-match ban from entering the dressing room and touchline. This punishment reflects the TFF's stance against Mourinho's attempt to undermine the impartiality of referees and other match officials.

The Portuguese manager, known for his outspoken nature, has not yet responded to the reprimand but continues to receive support from Fenerbahçe fans. His actions have once again brought attention to the state of refereeing in the Turkish Super Lig, highlighting ongoing controversies in the league.
