The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) on Friday took decisive action by sealing the Purity Agro Chemical Center in Gboko, Benue State. This facility was found to contain a staggering 724 cartons of expired Patriarc agrochemicals.
According to NAFDAC's statement, these products were being illegally revalidated with new shelf lives for distribution. In addition to the expired agrochemicals, the warehouse also housed various unregistered products, including Kris Herbicide, E-Tong Reapon 800WG, Onion Texas, Tomato Chiloli, and Hot Pepper.
The agency's operatives have secured the facility, and efforts are underway to apprehend the owner, who is currently at large. NAFDAC has urged consumers to remain vigilant and report any suspicious products or activities to the nearest NAFDAC office to help safeguard public safety.
