The protests, which led to these arrests, took place across four different Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Nasarawa State.

According to DSP Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer, the police had initially arrested 50 protesters on the first day of the protest for "allegedly attacking their personnel and looting."

Specifically, 25 individuals were detained in Lafia, 16 in Karu, 6 in Keffi, and 3 in Mararaba Udege of Nasarawa LGA.

In an interview with NAN, DSP Nansel confirmed that "10 minors out of the 50 protesters were released to their parents and guardians." He further stated that the remaining 40 protesters have been charged to court.

The police spokesperson also called on members of the public to go about their lawful activities without fear of intimidation.
