The national grid has collapsed once again, marking the third such incident within a single week.
The Nigerian System Operator’s portal confirmed that the grid recorded zero megawatts (MW) at 9:20 am, leading to widespread blackouts across multiple states.
The repeated collapses of the national grid shows the persistent instability and fragility of Nigeria's power infrastructure. As noted in the report, "businesses and households continue to suffer over the nation’s unreliable electricity supply amid the high cost and unavailability of fuel."
These power outages exacerbate the challenges faced by citizens and businesses alike, highlighting systemic inefficiencies that impede Nigeria's development.
