The Nigerian Army's 6 Brigade has successfully apprehended three individuals suspected of collaborating with terrorist elements in Taraba State. The operation, which took place on October 15, was executed with precision and intelligence in Landey Jessy village, located within Lau Local Government Area.
According to Captain Olubodunde Oni, Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, "The success was achieved by acting on intelligence reports of some bandits in the Kona Range of Mountains, which cut across Jalingo and Lau Local Government." This highlights the critical role of intelligence in counter-terrorism efforts.
During the investigation, one of the suspects confessed that his residence was used as a hideout for weapons following terrorist operations. Another suspect was identified by a victim who narrowly escaped a kidnapping attempt in Ardo-Kola Local Government in September. All three suspects are currently in custody, undergoing further investigation.
The Nigerian Army has emphasized the importance of public cooperation in combating terrorism. "We urge the public to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies as we work together to rid the country of terrorism and other forms of insecurity," Oni stated.
