The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has issued a stern warning to Nigerians and other nationalities about the alarming rise in fake recruitment advertisements circulating online.

Comptroller General Kemi Nandap highlighted that these fraudulent schemes are designed to deceive unsuspecting job seekers.

In a statement released on Wednesday, September 25th, 2024, Nandap emphasized that all NIS recruitment exercises are conducted transparently and based on merit.

"The attention of the service has been drawn to the alarming increase in fake recruitment activities being perpetrated by fraudsters," she said. She further clarified that vacancies are advertised through the NIS official website, government channels, and recognized national newspapers.

To combat these scams, the NIS is collaborating with relevant authorities to identify and prosecute those responsible for these fraudulent activities. "The Service remains committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in all its operations," Nandap added.
