The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has shed light on the political discord between himself and Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State.

The conflict, which has thrown the state into turmoil, centers around an alleged attempt by Fubara to unseat the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Martin Amaewhule.

According to Wike, this "coup" attempt backfired, leading to a crisis that has significantly impacted the region.

Wike, speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme, firmly denied any allegations of financial demands from Fubara, stating, “Have Fubara told you I demanded any money from him? I have never done that.” Instead, he attributes the ongoing feud to Fubara's failed political maneuvering, which he claims is the root cause of the current instability.
