The National Chairman of the APC, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has firmly dismissed allegations that President Bola Tinubu influenced the outcome of the governorship election in Ondo State.
The election saw Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa re-elected, with Ganduje attributing this success to the governor's strong performance and the effective mobilization of party structures.
Ganduje emphasized the widespread support for Aiyedatiwa, noting that "the people of Ondo State voted en masse for Aiyedatiwa across all 18 local government areas."
He highlighted the APC's impressive victory in 202 out of 203 wards, underscoring the grassroots efforts that contributed to this achievement.
"There was no subterranean support from any quarters. No external influence from the government, the Presidency or any other external forces," Ganduje stated, reinforcing the integrity of the electoral process.
Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed his gratitude to the people of Ondo State and the APC leadership for their confidence in his administration.
He reiterated his commitment to fulfilling campaign promises and fostering unity within the party. Ganduje encouraged Aiyedatiwa to continue his developmental initiatives and strengthen the APC's presence in the state, acknowledging the collaborative effort that led to the landslide victory.
