The All Progressives Congress (APC) secured a decisive victory in the recent Ondo State governorship election with Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa re-elected after garnering 366,781 votes.
This triumph over the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), whose candidate Agboola Ajayi received 117,845 votes, has been hailed by APC chieftain Olatunbosun Oyintiloye as a major indicator of the party's growing influence across Nigeria.

Oyintiloye, a member of the APC national campaign stakeholders engagement committee, emphasized that this landslide victory is a testament to the electorate's continued faith in the "Renewed Hope Agenda" of President Bola Tinubu.
Oyintiloye noted that the overwhelming support for APC in both Edo and Ondo states suggests that other states currently under opposition control should brace for potential shifts in political power.
He stated, "This landslide victory shows that the masses and the electorate in Ondo state still have faith in APC and President Tinubu’s administration." He further predicted that states like Anambra, Ekiti, and Osun might soon follow suit, as the APC continues to strengthen its position under Tinubu's leadership.
The election process was observed by Yiaga Africa, which deployed the Process and Results Verification for Transparency (PRVT) methodology to ensure the accuracy and fairness of the election results.
Despite some incidents of vote-buying, the election was largely peaceful, with commendations given to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for their efficient management and to the security agencies for maintaining order.
Oyintiloye congratulated Ayedatiwa on his victory and urged him to fulfill his electoral promises, highlighting the potential for economic and infrastructural growth in Ondo State under his leadership.
