
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has expressed his commitment to serving the people following his victory in the 2024 governorship election.

Declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Aiyedatiwa, representing the All Progressives Congress (APC), secured a total of 366,781 votes, triumphing over his closest rival, Ajayi Agboola of the Peoples Democratic Party, who garnered 117,845 votes. The election results were announced by the State Returning Officer, Prof. Olayemi Akinwumi, on November 17, 2024.
In his victory speech, Aiyedatiwa emphasized his dedication to running an inclusive government, stating, "As your governor, I promise to continue to run an inclusive and participatory government where every citizen has a voice and an opportunity to contribute to our collective progress."
He urged opposition parties to collaborate with his administration, highlighting the importance of unity in building a better future for Ondo State. Aiyedatiwa also noted his extensive campaign efforts, having visited all 18 Local Government Areas, which he believes reinforced the trust of the electorate in his leadership.
