
The Department of State Services (DSS) apprehended an individual suspected of vote-buying.
The arrest took place at Ward 4, Polling Unit 007, near St. Stephen's Primary School in Akure, around 9:00 am. The suspect was found with two bags of money, allegedly intended for voter inducement.

This off-cycle election has drawn considerable attention, with 17 candidates vying for the governorship seat. Among them is the incumbent Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who is seeking re-election.

Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed his confidence in the electoral process, stating, “The people of Ondo State deserve transparent and credible elections, and I am optimistic about our chances.”
