Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has firmly denied allegations that votes were bought on his behalf during the November 16 election.
Speaking in an interview with Channels Television, Aiyedatiwa addressed accusations from opposition parties, who claimed that his political associates engaged in vote-buying tactics to secure his victory across all 18 local government areas.
Governor Aiyedatiwa dismissed these allegations as baseless, asserting, "The opposition will want to say that and they will have to make excuses for their failure, but for us, it is what we worked for; the people spoke." He emphasized that there was no need for such practices, stating, "There won’t be any reason to buy votes because Ondo people know what they want."
