The Nigerian police have introduced advanced surveillance measures, including the deployment of drones Ondo State governorship election.
This initiative, led by FCT Commissioner of Police Tunji Disu, aims to ensure a peaceful and orderly electoral process.
Commissioner Disu emphasized the importance of this technological advancement, stating, "The deployment of drones is a crucial step in our strategy to monitor and secure the election environment effectively."
The drones will provide real-time aerial surveillance, enhancing the ability of security forces to respond swiftly to any incidents.
A comprehensive security plan has been put in place, involving a total of 43,157 security personnel. Of these, approximately 34,657 police officers are specifically tasked with overseeing polling units, collation centers, and other strategic locations throughout the state. Each polling unit will be manned by four police officers, ensuring thorough coverage and rapid response capabilities.
The police are working closely with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to maintain peace and order during the election.
This collaboration highlights the commitment of both entities to uphold the integrity of the electoral process and provide a safe voting experience for all participants.
