The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has pledged its unwavering commitment to ensuring a smooth and transparent governorship election in Ondo State.

This election marks a pivotal moment for the Sunshine State as voters prepare to elect a new governor. Professor Kunle Ajayi, the INEC National Commissioner overseeing Ondo, Ogun, and Osun States, emphasized the commission's readiness during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today. "We have done our own work, we are proud of what we have done and we will not disappoint the people of Ondo State," Ajayi stated confidently, underscoring the commission's dedication to upholding electoral integrity.

In preparation for the election, INEC successfully distributed sensitive materials to all local government areas in Ondo State.

This operation was conducted at the Central Bank of Nigeria in Akure, under the vigilant eyes of party agents, armed policemen, and commercial buses hired by the commission. Ajayi highlighted that unlike the previous election in Edo State, all registered areas in Ondo have received their necessary materials, ensuring logistical preparedness.

The commission's efforts extend beyond logistics, as it also addressed candidate adjustments by replacing Ebiseni with Festus as the Labour Party candidate.

Additionally, INEC is navigating controversies such as the PDP's rejection of INEC staff involvement, further demonstrating its commitment to transparency and efficiency.
