Ondo State Governor, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has announced the approval of a new minimum wage of N73,000 for state employees.

This decision surpasses the federal government's benchmark of N70,000, reflecting the governor's commitment to improving living standards in the region.

The announcement was made during the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial campaign event in Ondo City. Addressing a large crowd of supporters, Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized the importance of continuity in leadership to sustain developmental initiatives across the state.

He urged, "On November 16, I urge everyone gathered here and those who are not present to convert your support into votes for the APC to ensure the continuation of our significant progress in the state."

Governor Aiyedatiwa highlighted his administration's achievements, particularly in agriculture, where efforts have been made to boost food production.

He also mentioned the approval of over a billion naira for land clearing and the launch of various rural road construction projects aimed at facilitating farmers' activities and enhancing productivity in rural areas.

This development comes amidst a backdrop of local news, including criticism from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) regarding access restrictions to Democracy Park, a spike in Lassa fever cases, and a recent incident involving the arrest of a man accused of killing his friend over a debt.
