
A Nigerian Army officer identified as Abubakar allegedly killed Olapade Segun, an officer of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in a tragic incident that unfolded in the Bodija area of Oyo State.The confrontation between the two men occurred at a nightclub on a Friday night.
According to eyewitnesses, Abubakar brandished a dagger during the altercation and fatally stabbed Segun, who succumbed to his injuries due to severe blood loss.

The situation escalated when Abubakar attempted to flee the scene. An enraged mob caught him and delivered a brutal beating. It was only when fellow soldiers arrived and dispersed the crowd that Abubakar was rescued. The incident has prompted an investigation by senior Army officers, who have been frequenting the NSCDC state command as part of their inquiry.
Efforts to reach the Director of Army Public Relations, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, were unsuccessful, as his phone was switched off, and he had not responded to messages. Similarly, NSCDC spokesperson Babawale Afolabi did not answer multiple calls or respond to messages.
