Nigeria's Chukwuebuka Enekwechi has secured his place in the men's shot put final at the ongoing Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Competing in his second Olympic appearance, the 31-year-old athlete achieved a commendable throw of 21.13 meters during the qualification round on Friday.
Enekwechi's performance placed him fifth overall in Group B, ensuring his advancement to the final despite the automatic qualification mark being set at 21.35 meters. His initial throw of 21.13 meters was backed up by a solid second-round effort of 21.00 meters, demonstrating his consistency and prowess in the event.
The final is scheduled to take place at Stade de France on Saturday evening at 6:15 pm, where Enekwechi will carry the hopes of Nigeria for a medal.
