Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has emphasized the Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) commitment to revitalizing both the party and Nigeria.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Board of Governors and the unveiling of the Roadmap for the Peoples Democratic Institute (PDI), Makinde declared, "We will fix PDP and then PDP will fix Nigeria, which will be the basis of real hope for the people of Nigeria."
The PDI, established in 2000, serves as the research arm of the PDP, aiming to foster a new democratic culture through education, training, and research.
Makinde highlighted the institute's role in providing an ideological foundation for the country, stating, "Our country needs direction. Nigerians are looking up to the PDP to provide an ideological foundation."
Makinde urged political leaders to reflect on their legacies and reiterated his dedication to strengthening democracy and the PDP.
He believes that by revitalizing the party, it can serve as a beacon of hope for Nigerians, especially as the nation approaches the 2027 elections.
