Manchester City's challenging period, Pep Guardiola has affirmed his commitment to the club, vowing not to abandon his managerial post despite a troubling run of form.

The Spanish tactician, who recently extended his contract with the Premier League champions until 2027, is determined to steer the team back to its former glory.

Manchester City has experienced a slump, winning only one of their last 13 matches across all competitions.

This dismal performance includes nine defeats, leaving the club in seventh place in the Premier League standings, five points adrift of the top four and 14 points behind leaders Liverpool, who have a game in hand.

Guardiola, 53, acknowledged the severity of the situation but remains undeterred. "I will not give up," he stated emphatically. "I want to do it. And with the situations that we have, we have to do it." His determination is fueled by a desire not to disappoint the club's supporters and stakeholders.

The manager's resolve comes at a time when City faces additional challenges, including scrutiny over alleged financial misconduct. The club awaits the verdict on 115 charges of spending violations, expected in early 2025.

Despite these off-field issues, Guardiola remains focused on reviving the team's fortunes. Reflecting on the current predicament, Guardiola noted, "This shocking run of results has helped me realize how good we were during our successful years."

Under his leadership, City achieved remarkable feats, including an unprecedented four consecutive Premier League titles. However, the recent downturn has exposed vulnerabilities, with key players like Kevin De Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan facing criticism for their performances.

Guardiola admitted that injuries to several crucial players have compounded the team's struggles.

Despite the setbacks, Guardiola sees potential for improvement. "I see the team, the spirit in training, how focused they are," he remarked.

The upcoming fixtures against teams in the lower half of the table present an opportunity for City to regain momentum. As Guardiola continues to navigate this challenging phase, his unwavering commitment to Manchester City remains clear.

"I don't want to disappoint my people, in terms of the club, in terms of the fans, or the people who love this club," he asserted.

With the support of the club and its fans, Guardiola is poised to lead Manchester City through this turbulent period, aiming to restore the team's status as a dominant force in English football.
