In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, hip-hop producer Pharrell Williams voiced his disapproval of American celebrities making public political endorsements ahead of the 2024 US presidential election.

Williams, who identifies as apolitical, expressed his frustration with unsolicited political opinions from his peers. "I don’t do politics. In fact, I get annoyed sometimes when I see celebrities trying to tell you [who to vote for]," Williams stated. He further elaborated that while he respects some celebrities' opinions, he finds many of them unnecessary and intrusive.

"There are celebrities that I respect that have an opinion, but not all of them. I’m one of them people [who says], ‘What the heck? Shut up. Nobody asked you’," he added. Williams' comments come at a time when several high-profile figures have publicly endorsed candidates for the upcoming election.

Celebrities like Taylor Swift, Megan Thee Stallion, and Billie Eilish have shown their support for Vice President Kamala Harris.

On the other hand, former President Donald Trump has received endorsements from notable personalities such as billionaire Elon Musk and Blac Chyna.
