A young man was arrested after climbing a 33kv high tension pole demanding the resignation of President Bola Tinubu in Adamawa State.
The incident occurred in the Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area, where the man insisted he would only come down if the president stepped down from office.
The Adamawa State Police Command, with the help of local residents, managed to persuade the man to descend from the pole on the night.
According to SP Suleiman Nguruje, the spokesperson for the command, the man is currently in the protective custody of the Criminal Investigating Department.

Nguruje confirmed that the individual would be charged with attempting suicide, a criminal offense under Nigerian law. He emphasized, "The command is going to parade the man on Monday for attempting a suicide. You know attempting to commit a suicide is a criminal offence under our constitution, so we are going to charge him to court."
