The New South Wales government has announced a $1 million reward for information leading to the resolution of the 2015 murder case of Prabha Arun Kumar, an Indian IT worker.
On March 7, 2015, Prabha was tragically stabbed while walking through Parramatta Park in Sydney, Australia, as she spoke on the phone with her husband.
The attack occurred around 9:30 PM, just 400 meters from her home in Westmead, after she had taken a train from her workplace in Rhodes to Parramatta Railway Station.
Despite extensive investigations, the police have yet to identify a main suspect. Homicide Boss Danny Doherty emphasized that the attack was intentional, stating, "Whoever was responsible for Prabha's death, it was an intentional act of violence... whoever stabbed her, intended to kill her."

While robbery and sexually motivated attacks have been ruled out, detectives are exploring various lines of inquiry, including the possibility of the murder being planned overseas.
Prabha's husband, who was in India at the time, remains a person of interest, particularly given public documentation of his affair during the period of the murder.
Prabha was the primary breadwinner for her family, working in Australia to support them financially back in India. Her family, described by Doherty as "lovely people," continues to seek closure and answers regarding her untimely death. The NSW government's reward aims to encourage anyone with information to come forward, hoping to finally bring justice to Prabha's family and friends.
