Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of Nigeria's All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has leveled serious accusations against President Bola Tinubu.
Frank claims that Tinubu is orchestrating a plot to remove Siminalayi Fubara, the Governor of Rivers State.
This alleged scheme involves a Federal High Court ruling that has halted the state's monthly financial allocations, which Frank describes as part of a "sinister scheme" to coerce Governor Fubara into joining the APC or to force him out of office.
Frank asserts that President Tinubu's dissatisfaction stems from Fubara's refusal to switch political allegiance, despite advice from former Governor Nyesom Wike.
According to Frank, Wike warned Tinubu that Fubara's leadership could threaten his ambitions for the 2027 presidential elections.
"This is why the President has remained mute despite the gross violation of the Constitution by the courts and police in Rivers state," Frank stated.
The situation has escalated tensions in Rivers State, with Frank cautioning that any attempts to destabilize the region will be met with "fierce resistance from its people."
He has called for international intervention, urging, "A stitch in time saves nine. Let the international community step in now before the crisis boils over."
Frank also highlighted the potential broader implications of this political maneuvering, particularly concerning the operations of International Oil Companies in the Niger Delta region.
He emphasized the need for unity among the people of Rivers, asserting, "The people are solidly behind him."
