Nigerian music sensation Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has announced via Instagram that he had secured a 10-year Canada work visa.

In the video, Portable expressed his excitement about the opportunity to perform in Canada, stating, "Alhamdulilahi 🙏 CEO DR ZEHNATION Going to Canada 🇨🇦 Going and coming 10 years working permit."
Portable, who gained fame with the hit song 'ZaZoo Zehh' featuring Nigerian rapper Olamide and dancer Poco Lee, has been a controversial figure in the Nigerian music scene. His career has been marked by public disputes with business partners and multiple legal issues, including arrests for alleged assault and theft.
Despite his claims, there is some skepticism regarding the nature of his visa. According to report, it is possible that what Portable received is a multiple entry visa rather than a traditional work permit.
Canadian work permits are typically valid for 1-2 years, with exceptions based on specific conditions such as the validity of the applicant’s passport or Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). A multiple entry visa allows travel to Canada for six months at a time over a period of up to 10 years or until one month before the passport expires.
Regardless of the exact nature of his visa, Portable's announcement has generated massive attention. His ability to perform in Canada could mark a new chapter in his career, allowing him to reach a broader audience and potentially stabilize his tumultuous professional life.
