The number seven holds special importance as it has been synonymous with Ronaldo throughout his illustrious career.
According to journalist Carol Radull, the 39-year-old footballer has made history by becoming the all-time leading goalscorer in men's international football, with 132 goals in 214 caps for Portugal. He has also guided his national team to a historic victory in Euro 2016 and lifted the UEFA Nations League trophy in 2019.
Additionally, Ronaldo recently crossed the prestigious 900-goal threshold in his career and became the first person to have one billion followers across various social media platforms.
The coin, which will be acceptable as currency in Portugal, aims to inspire new and young sportspersons to emulate Ronaldo's achievements. Reflecting on his career, Ronaldo started at Sporting CP before moving to Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, and finally Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia. Despite not having a fruitful run at Euro 2024, Ronaldo remains crucial to Portugal's plans and continues to fuel the team's ambition with his hunger and desire.
