Governor Ahmadu Fintiri in a decisive move to address systemic issues within the Adamawa State government workforce has mandated that all civil servants present their original educational certificates before receiving their October salaries.

This directive, announced on October 3rd, 2024, is part of an effort to "restore sanity in the service" and prevent unqualified individuals from occupying positions, which could deny opportunities to the younger generation.
The governor's decision comes in response to recent discoveries of certificate scandals across various ministries, boards, and parastatals. More than 7,000 workers are at risk of losing their jobs if they fail to comply with this order.
Governor Fintiri emphasized that the exercise is not intended to "witch-hunt anyone" but rather to ensure that the public service remains a "haven for scholarship and honesty."
The directive was communicated through a statement by Humwashi Wonisouko, the Chief Press Secretary, who reiterated that the initiative aims to address the exploitation of system failures by some individuals engaging in wrongdoing.
Governor Fintiri assured that no worker would be denied their salary if they submit their certificates before the end of October, underscoring the administration's commitment to maintaining integrity and transparency within the state's workforce.
