President Bola Tinubu is set to depart Nigeria on Sunday, November 10, 2024, for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he will participate in the Joint Arab-Islamic Summit.


This gathering hosted by King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, will commence on Monday, November 11, and aims to address pressing issues in the Middle East.


A central focus of the summit will be the ongoing Israel-Palestinian conflict. President Tinubu is expected to deliver a strong message advocating for an "immediate ceasefire" and emphasizing the urgent need for a peaceful resolution. He will also highlight the importance of reviving the two-state solution as a viable pathway to achieving lasting peace in the region.


The Nigerian delegation accompanying President Tinubu includes several high-ranking officials: National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Information and National Orientation Alhaji Mohammed Idris, and the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency, Amb. Mohammed Mohammed.


Their presence shows Nigeria's commitment to playing an active role in promoting peace and stability in the Middle East.


This summit follows last year's meeting in the same Saudi city and reflects ongoing efforts to foster dialogue and cooperation among Arab and Islamic nations. As the world watches, President Tinubu's participation signals Nigeria's dedication to contributing to global peace initiatives.
