President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja, Nigeria, following his participation in the extraordinary joint Arab-Islamic summit held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The summit, which took place on November 12, 2024, was convened to address the ongoing crisis in the Middle East, with a particular focus on the Gaza conflict. During the summit, President Tinubu joined other leaders from the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the League of Arab States.
In his address, he made a poignant call for an end to what he described as "Israeli aggression in Gaza," emphasizing that "the conflict has persisted for far too long, inflicting immeasurable suffering." His remarks highlighted the severe humanitarian conditions faced by those in Gaza and shows a broader international appeal for peace and resolution.
Upon his return to Nigeria, President Tinubu was greeted at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport by a delegation of top government officials, led by his chief of staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.
