President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointments of chairmen and members for the governing councils of several federal universities and tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
This major move was disclosed by Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, in a statement issued in Abuja.
Among the notable appointments, Temi Harriman was named Chairman of the Nigerian Maritime University in Okerenkoko, Delta State, with Adeola Adeogun, Benedict Aguele, Freeman Kasa, and Babangida Abdullahi serving as members.
Additionally, Rabe Bala was appointed Chairman of the Nigerian University of Science and Technology in Abuja, alongside members Mr. Akinola Fagbemi, Rakiatou Bagnou, Alwel Egwurugu, and Femi Osabinu.
The Federal University of Agriculture in Bassam-Biri, Bayelsa State, saw Bram Baifa appointed as Chairman, with Richard Odigbo, Yomi Johnson, Fatima Owuna, and Christy Omoruyi as members.
Similarly, the Federal University of Health Sciences in Kwale, Delta State, received new leadership under the guidance of newly appointed officials.
President Tinubu's appointments extended to other institutions, including the Federal University of Medical Sciences in Katsina State, the Federal University of Agriculture in Mubi, Adamawa State, and the Admiralty University in Ibusa, Delta State.
Each institution received a dedicated team of chairmen and members tasked with steering their respective councils towards achieving their statutory responsibilities effectively.
In addition to these educational institutions, Tinubu also appointed new leaders for ten federal agencies and a national project, further demonstrating his commitment to enhancing governance and administration across various sectors in Nigeria.
