President Bola Tinubu has commenced a five-day state visit to Beijing, China, aimed at bolstering bilateral relations and advancing key infrastructural projects.

The Nigerian leader arrived in the Chinese capital early Sunday morning, accompanied by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwoolu and Kaduna State Governor Sani Uba. Upon arrival, President Tinubu was warmly received by high-ranking officials of the Chinese government.
His spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, confirmed the President's arrival at approximately 9:00 a.m. local time. "This visit is pivotal for achieving one of Mr. President’s top agenda items, which is the completion of the Ibadan-to-Abuja segment of the Lagos-Kano high-speed rail line," Ngelale stated.
During his stay, President Tinubu is scheduled to hold crucial talks with his Chinese counterpart, President Xi Jinping. The discussions are expected to cover various aspects of Nigeria-China cooperation, particularly in infrastructure development.
Tinubu will also visit two major Chinese corporations Huawei Technologies and the China Railway and Construction Corporation (CRCC) to explore potential collaborations.
In addition to these engagements, the President will meet with chief executive officers of ten major Chinese corporations, whose combined assets under management exceed $3 trillion across multiple sectors.
This meeting aims to attract substantial investments into Nigeria's economy. The visit will culminate in President Tinubu's participation in the Forum on China–Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Summit.
This summit will see several African heads of state engaging with Chinese leaders on a range of important issues, further strengthening the ties between China and the African continent.
"This visit is not just about strengthening diplomatic relations but also about securing tangible benefits for Nigeria's infrastructural and economic landscape," Ngelale emphasized.
