Russian President Vladimir Putin declared an end to peace negotiations with Ukraine, citing recent advances by Ukrainian forces into Russia's Kursk region.

This announcement marks an escalation in the ongoing conflict between the two nations.

Putin accused Ukraine of invading Russian territory to bolster its position in future negotiations. "It appears that the enemy, with the support from their Western backers, is executing their directives, and the West is using Ukrainians as proxies in this conflict," he stated during an operational meeting in Moscow.

He further questioned, "What kind of negotiations can we have with those who indiscriminately attack civilians and civilian infrastructure, or pose threats to nuclear power facilities? What is there to discuss with such parties?"

The Russian President also claimed that Ukraine's actions aim to halt Russia's progress in eastern Ukraine and create internal discord within Russia.

According to Putin, Ukrainian losses are increasing dramatically, while Russia's military operations have intensified along the entire front line.

This development comes amid mutual accusations between Russia and Ukraine regarding a fire at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.

Both sides blame each other for the incident, adding another layer of complexity to the already tense situation.
