Quavo Faces Legal Battle Over Alleged Plagiarism in 'Bubble Gum' Hit

Rapper Quavo is embroiled in a legal dispute over his 2018 hit song "Bubble Gum" from the album 'Quavo Huncho.'

Louisiana rapper Lamount London, also known as L.Mont, has filed a lawsuit claiming that Quavo stole the concept for the track.

According to L.Mont, he personally handed Quavo a CD containing his own version of "Bubble Gum" after opening for 2 Chainz and Migos at the Saenger Theatre in New Orleans on February 9, 2016. L.Mont alleges that his original song, recorded in 2015, was a "bouncy NOLA-style track" and that Quavo's version mirrors his in lyrics, arrangement, and melody. He asserts that everything but the title’s candy theme was taken from his work.

The lawsuit, obtained by TMZ Hip Hop, states that L.Mont is seeking damages due to the millions of plays Quavo's "Bubble Gum" has garnered over the years.

As of now, neither Quavo nor his representatives have responded to these allegations.
