Chelsea's winger, Raheem Sterling is poised to exit Stamford Bridge this summer, seeking a substantial multi-million payoff from the club prior to his departure.
Frozen out by new manager Enzo Maresca, Sterling still has three years remaining on his £325,000-per-week contract.
Transfer expert David Ornstein disclosed that Chelsea owes Sterling tens of millions of pounds, making the settlement of this payoff Sterling's top priority before considering his next career move.
Ornstein elaborated on NBC Sports, stating, "There are talks between himself and the club hierarchy over what to do. There are three years left on his contract that is in excess of £325,000 a week. So what Chelsea owe him runs into the 10s of millions of pounds, and I think Raheem Sterling’s priority is to settle that before deciding where he might like to go."
