Rapper A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, is reportedly set to purchase the English football club Tranmere Rovers in a deal valued at £15 million.
This acquisition involves an investment group led by celebrity lawyer Joe Tacopina, who has been in discussions with the League Two side for over six months. The proposed takeover would see the group acquiring an 80% stake in the club, which is currently owned by former FA chief Mark Palios.

A$AP Rocky, known for his influential presence in the hip-hop industry, is in a relationship with pop superstar Rihanna, and the couple shares two children.
The rapper's involvement in this venture is seen as part of a broader strategy to enhance the club's profile through celebrity endorsement and marketing, similar to the transformation witnessed at Wrexham following its purchase by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
The deal is pending approval from the English Football League (EFL), and if confirmed, it could lead to the production of a documentary akin to "Welcome to Wrexham," potentially increasing global interest in Tranmere Rovers.
Tacopina, who has a history of owning football clubs in Italy, believes that Tranmere, located near Liverpool, is undervalued and ripe for growth under new ownership. The acquisition could also see A$AP Rocky attending matches at Tranmere’s Prenton Park, with the possibility of Rihanna joining him to watch League Two football.
