Rapper Sean Kingston, whose real name is Kisean Paul Anderson, and his mother, Janice Turner, have recently found themselves embroiled in a legal battle.

On August 26, 2024, both appeared in a South Florida courtroom where they pleaded not guilty to charges of organized fraud and grand theft, amounting to over $1 million.
The charges stem from allegations that since October 2023, Kingston, 34, and Turner, 61, defrauded multiple businesses, including a jewelry business, a luxury bed company, a used luxury and exotic car dealership, and a luxury microLED TV company.

The indictment details how the duo allegedly used fraudulent documents, such as bank wires and payment transfers, to obtain high-value items without making payments.
Among the items fraudulently obtained were a bed valued at more than $86,000 from Maree, a Cadillac Escalade worth $159,701.49, and jewelry valued at $480,000.
Kingston and Turner each face one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and five counts of wire fraud. Despite the severity of the charges, both have maintained their innocence. "We believe he's innocent," stated Kingston's attorney, Robert Rosenblatt. "We're looking forward to trying this case either in state or federal court, or both if necessary."
The legal troubles for Kingston are compounded by his previous conviction; he was already serving a two-year probation sentence for trafficking in stolen property. The next court appearance for Kingston and his mother is scheduled for October 11, 2024.
