The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has announced the suspension of Pastor Ayorinde AdeBello and Deacon Oke Mayowa following serious allegations of inappropriate conduct involving young male church members.

These accusations surfaced through anonymous messages sent to a popular blog, alleging sexual abuse by the two church leaders.

In response, RCCG's National Overseer, Pastor Sunday Akande, confirmed the suspension and emphasized the church’s commitment to upholding biblical principles. The church's doctrine strictly opposes acts of homosexuality, citing Bible verses such as Leviticus 18:22 and 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 to clarify its stance.

Pastor Akande stated, "This memo serves to inform you of serious allegations of homosexuality against Pastor Ayorinde Ade Bello and Deacon Oke Mayowa." Both pastors have been instructed to fully cooperate with the investigation and remain temporarily relieved of their duties during this period.

The investigation is expected to conclude within two weeks, aiming to maintain confidentiality while ensuring all involved parties are treated with respect. Akande added that the church would handle the matter with "care and integrity," underlining the importance of conducting a thorough and confidential inquiry.
