Real Madrid Convenes 'Emergency Meeting' Amidst Kylian Mbappe's Sexual Assault Allegations

Esther

Real Madrid on Tuesday reportedly convened a crisis meeting following allegations of rape and sexual harassment against their star player, Kylian Mbappé.

The accusations emerged from Swedish media reports, which claimed that the French footballer was under investigation by police after an incident at a hotel in Stockholm. Mbappé had been visiting Sweden with friends from Wednesday to Friday the previous week, staying at the Bank Hotel in the city center.

The allegations were described as "totally false" and "a slanderous rumour" by Mbappé's representatives, who emphasized that the claims were irresponsible and unfounded.

They stated that all necessary legal actions would be taken to protect Mbappé's reputation and pursue those responsible for spreading these rumors. Mbappé himself dismissed the reports as "Fake News!" on social media, expressing his disbelief at the media frenzy surrounding the situation.

Swedish prosecutors confirmed that a criminal report had been submitted regarding an alleged rape at the hotel, but they did not identify any suspects. Despite the serious nature of the allegations, no suspects have been officially named, and the level of suspicion directed at Mbappé by investigators was reported to be "reasonable," the lower of two levels in the Swedish legal system.

Real Madrid has yet to publicly comment on the matter, and it remains uncertain whether Mbappé will participate in the club's upcoming match against Celta Vigo in LaLiga.

Meanwhile, France's national team coach, Didier Deschamps, acknowledged the negative atmosphere created by the reports but refrained from discussing the issue directly with Mbappé, who is recovering from a hamstring injury.
