Real Madrid's star goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, has announced his decision to step away from the Belgium national team.

The 32-year-old, who previously played for Chelsea, made this revelation in a heartfelt statement on his Instagram account.

Courtois cited a lack of confidence in Belgium's manager, Domenico Tedesco, as the primary reason for his departure.
The two reportedly clashed over the team's captaincy, leading to a strained relationship.
"Unfortunately, following the events with the coach and after much reflection, I have decided not to return to the Belgian national team under his management," Courtois stated.

He also acknowledged his part in the situation, saying, "In this matter, I accept my share of responsibility."
The goalkeeper, who missed Euro 2024 due to injury, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to represent Belgium. "I feel privileged to have had the honor of wearing the national jersey," he said, addressing Belgian fans and supporters.
