Sean "Diddy" Combs, music mogul, is set to stand trial on federal charges of sex trafficking and racketeering.
The trial is scheduled to commence on May 5, 2025, as determined by U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian during a hearing in Manhattan federal court on October 10, 2024.
Combs, aged 54, has pleaded not guilty to a three-count indictment. The charges allege that he utilized his business empire, including the renowned Bad Boy Entertainment, to transport women and male sex workers across state lines for recorded sexual performances, referred to as "Freak Offs."
Prosecutors have outlined a case where Combs allegedly enticed women with drugs such as ketamine and ecstasy, financial support, or promises of career advancement or romantic relationships.
These encounters were reportedly recorded surreptitiously and used as "collateral" to ensure the women's silence, with allegations of intimidation through the display of weapons.
The trial is expected to last over three weeks, with the prosecution presenting their case first, followed by the defense's arguments, which are anticipated to take about one week.
Combs, who has been incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since his arrest, faces a potential life sentence if convicted. His appeal against the denial of bail is currently pending.
