Social media personality Martins Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, has been granted bail following his arraignment on charges of impersonation.

The court set stringent conditions for his release, requiring a bail sum of N2 million and two sureties who must provide equivalent security.

The charges stem from a viral video in which VeryDarkMan appeared wearing a police uniform, an act that prompted the Nigerian Police Force to issue a strong condemnation.

The police, through their spokesperson Olumuyiwa Adejobi, announced an investigation into the unauthorized use of official uniforms, highlighting the seriousness of the offense.

According to the bail terms shared by VeryDarkMan's lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, the sureties are required to deposit their international passports and other forms of identification.

They must also reside within the jurisdiction of the Abuja municipal area and provide utility bills as proof of residence.

Furthermore, both the defendant and the sureties are mandated to depose affidavits ensuring the defendant's availability throughout the trial.
