Social Media Personality Speed Darlington is in Police Custody - Deji Adeyanju

The recent disappearance of Nigerian singer and social media personality, Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington, has been clarified by activist and lawyer Deji Adeyanju.

According to Adeyanju, Speed Darlington is currently in police custody in Abuja.

This revelation comes after concerns were raised about his whereabouts, particularly by social media influencer Constance Nwogu, who noted that he had been unreachable for three days.

Adeyanju confirmed that Speed Darlington was arrested in Lagos last Friday and subsequently transferred to Abuja.

The arrest was reportedly based on a formal complaint from Grammy Award-winning artist Burna Boy. However, the specific details of the complaint have not been disclosed.

Adeyanju shared this information via a post on his X handle, stating, “We just spent the last 30mins with Speed Darlington and he narrated how he was arrested in Lagos Friday last week, moved around and eventually brought to Abuja and has been in detention since then.

Petition against him was written by Burna Boy, we can confirm.”
