Controversial crossdresser and social media personality, Okuneye Idris, widely known as Bobrisky, was yesterday detained at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Alagbon, Lagos State. This development followed his arrest by the Nigeria Immigration Service at the Seme border while attempting to exit the country.

According to a source, Bobrisky was brought to the FCID around 10 p.m. on Monday for safekeeping after spending the night in detention. The spokesperson for the FCID, Mayegun Aminat, confirmed, "He is detained at FCID Alagbon. He is with us and we are to get a remand to keep him in custody today."

Bobrisky's arrest is part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of corruption involving the Nigeria Correctional Service during his previous imprisonment.

Earlier reports suggested that Bobrisky had received preferential treatment during his six-month sentence for naira abuse, which included furnished single cells and frequent visits from family and friends. These privileges have raised suspicions of bribery, with accusations of a N15 million payment to officials for special treatment.

The situation escalated when a leaked audio recording allegedly featured Bobrisky claiming that music artist Falz and his father, human rights lawyer Femi Falana, approached him for a N10 million bribe to secure a presidential pardon.

Both Falz and Falana have denied these claims, issuing a cease-and-desist letter demanding a retraction and public apology. Bobrisky has denied making the statements, attributing the leak to a social media influencer known as VeryDarkMan.

The Nigeria Immigration Service has named Bobrisky as a "person of interest" in this ongoing probe, assuring the public of its commitment to professionalism in handling the case.
