A Swedish prosecutor on Tuesday confirmed the initiation of a rape investigation in Stockholm, though they did not name Kylian Mbappe as the suspect.
This development followed media reports from Swedish outlets such as Aftonbladet and Expressen, which identified the Real Madrid and France star as the target of the probe.

The alleged incident reportedly took place at the upscale Bank Hotel on October 10, during Mbappe's visit to the Nordic capital with friends. Expressen noted that Mbappe was "reasonably suspected" of rape and sexual assault, which is the lower of two suspicion levels in Sweden's legal system.
The Prosecution Authority stated that a criminal report had been filed with the police, but no further details could be disclosed at this time. Lawyer Petra Lund, representing the plaintiff, declined to comment.
Meanwhile, Mbappe's entourage claimed ignorance of any legal complaint against him and dismissed the accusations as "completely false and irresponsible." They also suggested a connection between the allegations and an upcoming hearing regarding Mbappe's dispute with his former club, Paris Saint-Germain, over unpaid wages.
