In a heartfelt gesture, former Labour Party presidential candidate and ex-Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, recently visited the homes of Nigerian music duo P-Square's Paul Okoye and his elder brother Jude Okoye in Lagos.
This visit, which took place amid a turbulent family feud involving the Okoye brothers, has garnered significant public attention.
The Okoye brothers, known for their musical collaboration as P-Square, have been embroiled in a dispute that has seen accusations and legal actions.
Peter Okoye, also known as Mr. P, accused his twin brother Paul and their older brother Jude of financial misconduct, including the diversion of funds into a secret company named Northside Music. This led to Peter involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and filing a petition against Jude, while excluding Paul from the legal action.
Peter Obi's visit is seen as an attempt to mediate and resolve the ongoing conflict. The emotional visit was captured in photos shared by Paul Okoye on Instagram, where he expressed his gratitude, captioning the images with, "Thank you very much and God bless you sir P.O @peterobigregory #yourexcelency."
The visit has stirred emotions among fans and supporters, many of whom hope for a reconciliation and a return to musical harmony for the P-Square duo. Veteran Nigerian singer Charles Oputa, known as Charly Boy, also weighed in, urging the brothers to resolve their issues privately and professionally.
