The Presidency announced President Bola Tinubu's intention to reshuffle his cabinet. Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, disclosed this during a press conference at the State House in Abuja. Although no specific timeline was provided, Onanuga hinted that the reshuffle might occur before October 1st.
"The President has expressed his desire to reshuffle his cabinet and he will do it. I don’t know whether he wants to do it before October first and he will surely do it. That is what I will say, but he has not given us any timeline," Onanuga stated.
This announcement came after a Federal Executive Council meeting where President Tinubu urged his ministers to improve their communication with the public.
Onanuga noted that some ministers have been "media shy, television shy, radio shy," and emphasized the need for them to "go out there and speak about what they have been doing." "Because the feeling out there is that the government is not doing enough and the government has been doing a lot. And it is up to them to go out there and blow their own trumpet," Onanuga added.
The key themes of this announcement include government restructuring, improved communication, and public perception management, highlighting the administration's commitment to enhancing transparency and effectiveness.
